From 31st August to 4th September, President Wang Zili attended the 27th ITTC in Copenhagen together with other delegation members: Professor Jiang Zhiyong, head of the department of marine science and technology; Professor Zhu Renqing, the secretary of the party of School of Naval Architecture and ocean engineering, and Dr. Xu Gang.
ITTC is the most representative and authoritative civil academic research organization in the field of Ship and Hydrodynamics in the world. Its main task is to progress the solution of important technical problems concerned by ship model towing tank and its goal is to promote the research of ship and other fields of Marine Equipment and Hydrodynamics so as to improve the methods of model test, numerical simulation and real scale measurement. It also aims to recommend appropriate procedures and confirm the accuracy of real scale measurement to ensure the quality, and provide information exchange platforms. ITTC is composed of EC(Executive Committee), AC(Advisory Council) and TC(Technical Committee). The delegation of our university attends the conference at each session since it became the formal member in the 25th ITTC in 2008.
The conference commission; six standing committees—resistance, propulsion, manoeuvring, seakeeping, ocean engineering, stability in waves; five expert committees—CFD, detailed flow measurements, performance of ships, hydrodynamic noise and renewable; together with quality control system and technology group gave speeches respectively, announcing the current developments and achievements of each field in detail.
Our delegation exchanged with the experts. Through participation, we further strengthen and expand the communications & contacts with international academia of Hydrodynamics in Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering, as well as achieve a better grasp of international advanced development trends in the field.
